My Life

At Least I Tried

Today, I’ve had a shitty day.

Yep, there I just said it. Today has sucked.

You might as well just slap a sticker on me with the words “You tried” because honestly, that’s what I’m feeling at the moment.

Yesterday, my parents approved me for going to visit my best friend Kaitlyn in Pennsylvania for my spring break. Naturally, I was ecstatic. This will be the first time ever I take a bus by myself on a long journey AND I have to stop in New York City. This is actually going to happen.

Of course, it will only happen if Greyhound’s website, you know, actually worked.

I spent 20 minutes with them on the phone this morning, and then 20 minutes on the phone with them this afternoon, and spent my day DMing them on Twitter, only to have nothing work. It’s great when you get error messages the whole time and when the actual employees do it, they get error messages as well and blame it on the partner bus line. So I had to spend an extra $20 on my tickets and purchase them one-way instead. Right there, my day was already looking fantastic.

To add onto this January 27th, I’ve also been royally dumped on with homework, as well as tasks for my school’s yearbook that I have to do in two weeks. Needless to say, my life is falling apart and it’s only week two of my spring semester.

So today sucked. Tomorrow could possibly be better. As they always say, the sun will come out tomorrow (thanks Annie!). For now, I’m going to sit in my bed, try to tackle an immense amount of work, and attempt to make some kind of good out of this day.

Remember everyone: life isn’t always sunshine, lollipops and rainbows (10 points if you get where this is from). Sometimes, life sucks. Sometimes your day sucks and you just have to rant about it. It’s better to rant about it then let it all in. You may see someone who looks like they’ve got their life perfect, but probably had the crappiest day ever. Remember that not everyone has good days, and not everyone has bad days. And sometimes, you just want to punch a wall. Today was that day for me.
