Books I’ve Read in 2016

It’s well-known by many that I am a complete and total book nerd. I can’t resist buying books if they’re on sale, or ordering the latest music biography on Amazon. It’s been even worse this year, as I started working in my school library. I have ordered multiple books through our system and even though I’m not at school, I currently have six books waiting for me on the holdshelf (and I brought home five over break).

Even with everything I did this year, I was able to read a whopping 28 books. And I can’t lie, falling into these fictional (and nonfictional) worlds made me the happiest girl. Here are all the books I read in 2016 (and a grade):

  1. Me & Earl & The Dying Girl – Jesse Andrews (B)
  2. Love Letters to the Dead – Ava Dellaira (C+, you can read my review here)
  3. So Lyrical – Trish Cook (C)
  4. High Fidelity – Nick Hornby (B-)
  5. Love Like Crazy – Megan Squires (C-)
  6. The Disenchantments – Nina LaCour (C)
  7. Our Chemical Hearts – Krystal Sutherland (A-)
  8. Slash – Slash (B+)
  9. Save Me, Kurt Cobain – Jenny Manzer (A+, you can read my review here)
  10. Room – Emma Donoghue (A)
  11. Saint Anything – Sarah Dessen (A)
  12. Dreamland – Sarah Dessen (B+)
  13. Life – Keith Richards (C)
  14. Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour – Morgan Matson (A, read my review for Her Campus here)
  15. Supergirl Mixtapes – Meagan Brothers (A-)
  16. It’s So Easy (And Other Lies) – Duff McKagan (A)
  17. The Geography of You and Me – Jennifer E. Smith (B)
  18. The Statistical Probability of Falling in Love at First Sight – Jennifer E. Smith (B-)
  19. 13 Little Blue Envelopes – Maureen Johnson (B)
  20. Tonight The Streets Are Ours – Leila Sales (B+)
  21. The Unexpected Everything – Morgan Matson (A-)
  22. Girl Online – Zoe Sugg (D)
  23. Believarexic – J.J. Johnson (B-)
  24. The Heroin Diaries – Nikki Sixx (A)
  25. This Is Gonna Hurt – Nikki Sixx (B)
  26. Vinyl Princess – Yvonne Prinz (B+)
  27. Kill the Boy Band – Goldy Moldavsky (C)
  28. Enter Night: The Story of Metallica – Mick Wall (B-)

These books are all easily accessible through Amazon or Goodreads, and I highly recommend any of the books with a B+ or better! While I have finished all the books I’ve listed, I have plenty more to sift through and bury my nose in. In fact, I’m making a list right now in my binder of all the novels I need to read in 2017.

My goal is to read 35 books next year, which doesn’t seem impossible for me. I encourage all of you to go out and read. It’s fun, it’s sometimes life-changing, AND it makes you smart (and stuff). Now pick up a book and get to it!
